New Zealand Warm Up

New Zealand New Zealand New Zealand, oh I love you so!    After being here almost 2 months I’ve come to the big conclusion that if I had to pick another country to live in besides the USA it would be NZ.  Never have I found a place that has so much to offer for any type of traveler.  Surfing, climbing, trekking, skydiving, snowboarding, boating, fishing, bungy jumping, bird watching, jet boating, caving, etc…… the list is endless.

New Zealand itself is not a very big country at least by the US standards.1337345117_bff7800402_o If you placed an outline of NZ over a map of the USA it takes up only part of the east coast from Florida to New Jersey. However, for what it lacks in land it makes up for in some of the worlds most beautiful and breathtaking scenery. Which makes all of the above activities even more enjoyable.

While playing a round of Disc golf in Queenstown it was hard to keep concentrated on the game being I had views like this (below pic) all around me.  Also might have been the alcohol consumed too 🙂

New Zealand is not just a country of beauty it’s also a country of many firsts and inventions.

-First country to allow women to vote
-First feet on Antarctica
-First man to climb Everest
-First country to introduce 8 hour work day
-First Lady Mayor
-Baron Ernest Rutherford was the first in the world to split the atom in 1919.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
-Bungy jumping
-The egg beater was invented here,ha.
-New Zealand referee William Atack became the first sports referee in the world to use a whistle to stop a game in 1884
-First flight? Google Richard Pearse

Alright, enough NZ facts and more travel fun!
