While making my way to check out Basantapur square in Kathmandu I got the urge to shoot some street photography. Pulling my EPL-1 out of my backpack and mounting my trusty 45mm 1.8 lens I headed off down the street excited to feed one of my passions in life.
After about 10 mins of shooting I realized Kathmandu is a street photographers paradise! Every second something or someone interesting would catch my attention keeping me left eye glued to my viewfinder. Also the streets and squares are very busy which makes for an environment were you can really get in close without being detected to capture those candid moments in people’s lives.
Life on a string
Making the move
Dream of flight
Smile for a smile
Never trust a monkey!
Going for a walk
Light in the cage

Right before I arrived at the Macadamia Nut farm one of Virginia’s Pigs gave birth to 5 little piggies and during my stay I probably took at least 50 to 100 pics of these cute little porkers. Here are some of my favorite shots. Enjoy!
Some of you may or may not know but street photography is one of my favorite forms of Photography. To me street photography is catching a pure moment in someone or somethings life that tells a story or evokes an emotion. In the past six months I traveled pretty quick so I never really had time to burn a day just to walk around a city and have some shutter therapy as Robin from http://robinwong.blogspot.com calls it. While in Auckland I made time to get out and shoot. I am purely a beginner in the field of photography and I love learning new things so constructive criticism is welcome!
